South America has seen its fair share of currency devaluations, social unrest, polictical turmoil and shortages in goods so this Peruvian family thought it was a good time to park some currency into US real estate.
There are lessons that we can learn in times of uncertainty especially when we see those with more expericence on the matter taking some action.
While the US currency is the cleanest dirty shirt compared to other world currencies, we are in store for massive money printing and debt creation that seems to be escalating very quicly. This ultimately will lead to inflation (or currency devaluation) and many assets will rise in value compared to the US dollar.
Having excess cash sitting in the bank, unless you will be deploying it to make an investment or purchase, is ultimately going to be losing its purchasing power.
By holding tangible assets, such as cash flowing real estate, the family above is sleeping better at night rather than the cash sitting in the bank.
